PART 1/4

Arturo gives Cayetana his word that she will see her family again. Cayetana is shocked to see him, but hides her surprise by asking him what he’s doing there. Arturo replies that he understands he’s the last person she wants to see, but he’s just as stubborn as Cayetana, and is dedicated to making Sofia happy. Since Sofia won’t be happy until Cayetana is happy, he is there to find out what is going on. He tells Cayetana he’s there to get her out of the hell she’s put herself in. Cayetana replies that she didn’t ask him to come, and that he can’t know about her happiness. Arturo tells her that may be true, but he can see that the way she is now there’s no way she will be happy. He begins to look for a way to get her out of her handcuffs. Cayetana tells ARturo that she found Felipe’s chair and that Leonardo told her Felipe is somewhere, but she’s afraid that they’ve hurt him. Arturo frees him and tells her they need to leave immediately.

At the asylum, Juana finds Felipe’s room. She wakes him and asks if he remembers her.

Miranda realizes that Leonardo has Cayetana kidnapped in her own ranch. She tries to make her way to the Alcazar ranch to warn the girls but realizes she is being followed. Nicholson gives chase.

Juana introduces herself and Felipe remembers her. Juana tells him that the place he’s in is to get rid of people, and that the doctor is Leonardo’s cousin. Felipe realizes the danger he is in, but the sedatives win over and he falls back asleep.

Miranda calls the police who promise to send people over. Terrified, she continues to try and get away. At the police station, Irina, Veronica, and Andrea are there to report the strange happenings at the Del Junco Ranch. They are surprised to see Patricia be dragged in by Cabrera. Jose Antonio asks the girls what’s the matter, and they fill them in on their visit to the ranch. Fernandez gets a call about Miranda’s predicament. Veronica begs her father and Fernandez to help, and the two men leave. The girls follow close behind.

Arturo and Cayetana try to escape from the front door of the house, but Mendes catches them.

Isadora makes Eleazar and Matilde return the jewels. The confrontation is interrupted by a gunshot, from outside.

Cayetana bargains for Arturo’s life.

The gunshot was a warning from Arturo. They are quickly surrounded by Leonardo. Meanwhile, the police reach Miranda. Fernandez incapacitates Nicholson and arrests him. Nicholson confesses to killing Bridgitte. Fernandez promises him that the full weight of the law will fall on him. Nicholson reaches for another weapon but Fernandez shoots him dead before he can fire. The confrontation over, Fernandez says aloud that Bridgitte finally has justice- and that she was very brave, right to the end.

At the Alcazar Ranch, Samuel worries about Arturo. Flavio reassures him that it’s only been twenty minutes- they need to trust their brother. Sofia and Soledad ask them what they mean, but the boys are saved from an awkward explanation by Irina, Andrea and Veronica’s arrival. Irina confesses that there is something serious going on at the Del Junco Ranch. Sofia asks her what she means, and Veronica tells her about Miranda’s phone call to the police.

Leonardo threatens to kill Arturo if he moves. Cayetana tells Arturo to lower the pistol- it’s the only option they have. Isadora threatens to kill him on the spot, but Arturo’s defiance stops her. Leonardo swears that Arturo won’t leave the house alive, and Cayetana begs for Arturo’s life as the father of her grandson and her daughter’s husband. Desperate, Cayetana offers her lands and riches will belong to Leonardo. Leonardo mocks her- now she is fighting for the life of her worse enemy. Cayetana provokes Leonardo, but Ulysses intervenes. Cayetana only agrees to sign once she sees Arturo is saved. Mendez calls and warns Leonardo that the police are arriving

The girls find out about Arturo’s crazy plan.

Cabrera questions Patricia about Ulysses’ shady activities, but Patricia feigns ignorance. Cabrera pressures her- could she really be so ignorant to all that was going on? He urges her to tell the truth- her freedom depends on it.

At the asylum, Juana returns to Felipe’s room. She urges him to wake up so they can escape, but the doctor enters. They plan to wake him up long enough to record him, and then kill him.

Fernandez captures Mendez and the two cowboys with him. Leonardo fires two shots from the door as Isadora swears that they will only take her dead. Fernandez announces that he knows Cayetana is being held hostage, and that Ulysses is with them.

At the Alcazar Ranch, Flavio calls Jose Antonio about Arturo, and Sofia finds out. She tries to run after Arturo but the girls stop her. Veronica finds out that Miranda is fine, but confirms that Cayetana is being held hostage.

Jose Antonio arrives with reinforcements at the De Junco Ranch. He lets Fernandez know that Arturo is also at the ranch. Fernandez calls Leonardo who threatens to kill Cayetana if they come any closer. Isadora takes the phone, surprising Fernandez, and gives her conditions- she wants a getaway car and a million dollars in exchange for Arturo and Cayetana’s life.

Veronica tells the girls what Miranda saw at the Del Junco Ranch. Samuel gets a call from Jose Antonio with Isadora’s conditions. Cabrera pressures Patricia, who finally confesses that she knew Ulysses was doing something illegal, and that she had previously called in with an anonymous tip, which Cabrera remembers. Patricia maintains that she begged Ulysses to stop but he wouldn’t listen, and all she knows is that he would go to Mexico and return with lots of money.

Felipe wakes up and the doctor tells him that they are trying to get in touch with Cayetana. The doctor tells the nurse to get a wheelchair to take Felipe to the garden. Juana emerges from the bathroom to tell him he must escape before they kill him.

Flavio, Irina and Sofia wait for Samuel to arrive with the money as Cabrera arrives with Patricia and Linda. Fernandez takes Linda to try and convince Isadora to turn herself in. Linda begs Isadora not to make things more difficult, and promises to help her. Isadora tells them to do what they want with Linda. Leonardo warns that Patricia is out there as well, and Ulysses is furious to see she is handcuffed. Cayetana quietly urges Arturo to escape- she wants to give Sofia and her grandson this final gift. Arturo replies that he also wants to give Sofia a gift- the return of her mother, safe and sound.

The first deaths.

Back at the Asylum, Felipe is still heavily sedated. Juana finds him and firmly tells him they must escape. At the Del Junco Ranch, Linda fails. Fernandez sends Patricia in as Flavio and Irina comfort Sofia. Samuel arrives with Andrea, bringing the money.

Ulysses laments that they are using Patricia. Patricia swears she won’t abandon him, but that he should please turn himself in. Ulysses demands the money and getaway car, but when Isadora sees that Jose Antonio is the one turning in the money, she thinks the whole thing is a trap. Ulysses demands that only Patricia can give over the money. Andrea wishes Patricia luck as Samuel hands over the suitcase of money. Ulysses takes Arturo with him under Isadora’s warning of not screwing up because of his woman. Sofia tries to run in to Arturo but Jose Antonio stops her.

Felipe and Juana (disguised as a nurse) are caught by the doctor, but Juana makes a run for it. The doctor is overrun by the patients and the pair escape.

Veronica is relieved to find her mother alive and well. Veronica wants to go to the Del Junco Ranch, which worries Miranda, but Pablo promises to take care of her. Dario goes with them.

Ulysses tries to convince Patricia to escape with him, but she tells him she can’t- that would be turning her back on what’s right. She begs him to turn himself in. Ulysses orders her to take the suitcase and come into the house, but Patricia refuses. He threatens to kill Arturo and then himself if Patricia refuses. Ulysses shoots Patricia, and in the confusion the police fire at Ulysses. Isadora decides to take matters into her own hands.

Eleazar and Matilde make their escape, as Sofia screams for Arturo to escape. Arturo answers that he can’t leave Cayetana alone. Leonardo demands that Arturo bring back the suitcase of money. Jose Antonio bargains- he will bring the suitcase but Arturo will be let go. Leonardo’s reply is a shot- he doesn’t want any tricks. Jose Antonio promises he won’t leave Arturo for a minute. Arturo promises Sofia that he will return, and asks her to trust him
