Cayetana orders Eleazar and Matilde out of Sofia’s room- she states that the discussion they just had with Rocio was to ensure everyone did their job, so she expects the same of them.

Emilio is furious that Roger and Ulysses don’t answer their phones. His buyer calls to demand the arms- Emilio decides to go but ends up going alone. In Mexico, Jose Antonio and Fernandez prepare for the raid. Fernandez is hopeful, but Jose Antonio is cautious- he won’t believe they’ve captured Emilio until it happens.

At the Del Junco Ranch, a dashing Samuel arrives for Andrea on his motorcycle. He tells her that he thought she sounded sad the last time they talked on the phone, and so he decided to come for her to take her on a ride to cheer her up. Andrea replies that she can’t say no to his cute face, but as she agrees to climb on (despite being afraid of motorcycles) Cayetana interrupts them and demands that Andrea get down from the motorcycle. Samuel replies that he came for his fianceé, and Andrea replies that Cayetana no longer cares what she does, so she should just leave her alone. Samuel and Andrea take off on the motorcycle together

Sofia is taking a ride on her horse, but she has an unpleasant audience- Isadora is watching her from the shadows, swearing that Sofia won’t get away with winning. She tries to shoot Sofia but Leonardo finds her and interrupts, inadvertently saving Sofia’s life. Sofia hears the shot and escapes, heading to the Alcazar ranch. Leonardo refuses to let Isadora ruin his plans. They sleep together in the stables

Fernandez and Jose Antonio initiate the raid. Jose Antonio orders Emilio out of the car. Emilio knows he is trapped, and makes a run for it, ordering his driver to escape with the cargo. Fernandez captures the driver and Jose Antonio chases Emilio.

At the spa, Irina and Flavio finish a fitness class together. Flavio wants to lift some weights, but Irina only wants something to drink- she’s feeling dizzy. She faints to Flavio’s shock. Dario and Veronica arrive, and upon seeing Irina passed out Dario calls 911. Irina recovers but cries out for her baby. Veronica and Flavio are confused- they ask her what baby she meant, and Irina finally folds. She apologizes for hiding the news from Flavio, and tells him that they are having a baby. For once, Flavio is dumbstruck. He asks her if she’s really carrying a little Irina inside her. Irina replies yes- or maybe a mini Rulitos. Dario and Veronica laugh at him and tell him to react, to say something. Flavio tells Irina she’s just given him to most wonderful news of his life and kisses her, elated.

At the Alcazar Ranch, Sofia tells Arturo what happened. Arturo is shocked and wants to go looking for who shot at her, but Sofia begs him not to go- after all, she can’t know that the shots were meant for her.

In Mexico, Jose Antonio corners Emilio, and incapacitates him. He arrests Valverde but while waiting for reinforcements, Emilio tries to shoot him. Jose Antonio shoots him dead. Linda gets the call from the police informing her of Emilio’s death, much to Isadora’s delight.

Cayetana is mad at Andrea for leaving, but Felipe reminds her of own sins. Cayetana doesn’t want to hear him, and as Matilde arrives he leaves. Matilde comments that Felipe has a difficult character. She tells Cayetana she should dedicate herself to her husband, and that in her place, she would kick the girls out of the house.

At Isadora’s shady hideaway, Leonardo tells her that she can’t be in and out of the ranch as she pleases. Isadora replies that she can enter from the south where no one can see her. Isadora tells him he better hurry up but Leonardo replies that Cayetana has to sign over the fortune to him, but that he has allies that will do everything he says.

At the asylum, Juana visits Julia again. She tells Julia that she will take her away from this hell and promises to help her find her daughter by asking Fernandez for his help. Juana promises to employ Julia at her taqueria. Unfortunately she is found out by the doctor. The doctor throws Juana out of the room, and he gives Julia a final injection that kills her.

Cabrera investigates with Arturo but finds no evidence of foul play. He doesn’t believe that Isadora could be so reckless to enter the ranch (he’s wrong) but he does advise Sofia not to go out alone anymore.

Rocio tells Soledad how much things have changed at the Del Junco ranch since she’s left. She’s worried about Felipe will fare at their hands. Soledad is a little out of it, still shaken up over the phone call she got from Jose Antonio. She tells Rocio about it, but Rocio tells her that it can’t be- he’s been dead for years.

In Mexico, Jose Antonio and Fernandez drink to Emilio’s defeat and begin to plan how they will capture Isadora. Jose Antonio warns that she will be difficult to capture and is very dangerous. Fernandez tells Jose Antonio that there is a private flight waiting for them to go to Houston. Jose Antonio is nervous- he doesn’t know how his sons will react seeing him alive after all these years. Fernandez encourages his friend- his life is waiting for him, as well as the opportunity to be a grandfather. Jose Antonio likes the idea very much.

Veronica returns home, and Miranda tells her she was worried about her. Veronica tells her mother she was going to look for her at the publishing house, but hesitated. Miranda agrees they have to talk- and asks for forgiveness for all her many errors, erroes that have driven Veronica away. Veronica tells her that she doesn’t need to apologize- Pablo had already spoken to her, and she encourages her mother that they turn the page. Miranda thanks her and they reconcile. Miranda gives Veronica her blessing to be with Pablo.

That night, Rocio struggles with the new environment. Pablo comes to her rescue and advises her to be careful for her and the baby. Rocio doesn’t understand how he can be so nice to her, to which he replies that she’s always been his best friend- it was his fault to take advantage of her kindness when he thought he had lost Veronica. He wishes that she would find someone that would deserve her.

Cayetana prepares for the arrival of guests for a party Leonardo planned. Felipe laments the parasites that will soon enter through the door. The girls arrive and ask about the type of party Cayetana is having. Leonardo wants Cayetana to recover her social life, as he tells the girls. The guests arrive, including Ulysses and Patricia. Even Cayetana is shocked by the caliber of people arriving, and the girls look on knowingly. Leonardo introduces his “beautiful lady” and his family, meaning the girls. Patricia thanks Cayetana for inviting them as Andrea excuses herself- she feels like a hypocrite for partaking in this party when she does not associate with these kinds of people. Irina asks them to respect her father’s memory and the rules of the house. Leonardo cynically asks Andrea to apologize to the guests for leaving the party, but Andrea replies that because she is a lady she will be leaving and will not apologize. The girls all leave, much to Cayetana’s embarrassment, and head for the Alcazar ranch.

Thoughts: FLAVIO FINDING OUT ABOUT THE BABY IS MY FAVORITE MOMENT OF THIS ENTIRE NOVELA EVERYONE ELSE GO HOME. I had imagined it several ways but I think I like this best. I got the feeling that this was maybe the first time in his LIFE that Flavio had been speechless, and his exuberant kisses admist Irina’s attempts to apologize for keeping the news from him was so so perfect. And the expression was priceless. Just perfect in every way
